Copilot Workshop
for Sales Teams

Microsoft 365 Copilot, hands-on, on your own deals

Bottom line: the Copilot workshop for sales teams shows your sellers how to use Microsoft 365 Copilot in Outlook, Teams, Word and PowerPoint, on their own live deals. Account executives prep a customer meeting from the full history, account managers recap a call and send the follow-up, pre-sales tailors a deck. It runs on the Copilot you already have, with no CRM setup.

Your reps can use Copilot, Claude or Gemini for plenty of things. This is about how a seller's week changes. I have been working with and training on Gen AI since early 2022, and I have run 264 AI sessions in 112 organisations (updated October 2026).

Who the Copilot workshop for sales teams is for

General Copilot training shows the tool. This one is built around a seller's actual day: the customer meeting, the follow-up, the proposal, the pipeline email. It is for account executives, account managers, sales managers, pre-sales and sales ops.

The licence is there. Nobody showed sellers how to use it on a live deal.

What your sales team does in the room: from meeting prep to follow-up

Everyone works on real tasks from their own sales week, because Copilot for sales reps works best on their own customers.

01Customer meeting prep

Copilot pulls together the emails, meetings and files you have with that customer, so you walk in prepared.

02The call recap

A Teams recap of what the customer asked for, what you committed to and by when, and what is still open.

03A first proposal draft

A sales proposal with Copilot starts in Word, from your meeting notes. Copilot writes version 1. You write the version the customer reads.

04The follow-up email

A Copilot follow-up email in Outlook. Factual, no superlatives, and it sounds like you.

05One deck, tailored to one customer

Your existing PowerPoint deck, reshaped for the customer in front of you.

06The objection you hear every week

An answer built from your past proposals and recaps, instead of from memory.

These are tasks your people bring along, not guaranteed outputs. Each person leaves with the prompts they wrote on their own deals. That's the whole promise (small, and easy to keep).

Microsoft 365 Copilot or Copilot for Sales: what the workshop uses

The workshop uses Microsoft 365 Copilot, the one most sales teams already have, on your email, meetings, files and chats. It is not the separate Copilot for Sales add-on that connects to a CRM such as Dynamics 365 or Salesforce.

That add-on is a different licence, and I don't set it up. Most of what you find when you search this topic is setup projects for it. Here nothing is configured.

The direct answer

Do we need the CRM add-on for this workshop?

No. Microsoft 365 Copilot is enough, with a licence assigned to each participant.

04.

How the session runs

The workshop runs 1.5 to 4 hours for up to 20 participants, on site or online. A bigger sales organisation can have 2 workshops, or a lecture (less hands-on, but it fits more people), as in Copilot training for large organisations.

Marketing has its own session, mixed roles fit our general Copilot workshop, and the whole company can do Copilot training for companies. Sales leaders can also look at training for managers or executives.

Common questions

What does a Copilot workshop for sales teams cover?

Everyone works on real tasks from their own sales week, from prepping a customer meeting in Outlook to a pitch deck in PowerPoint. Each participant leaves with the prompts they wrote themselves.

How long is it, how many people can attend, and is it online or on site?

The workshop runs between 1.5 and 4 hours, depending on the format, for up to 20 participants, on site at your office or online.

How is a Copilot workshop for sales different from general Copilot training?

General Copilot training shows the tool. This one is built around a seller's actual day, with sales examples throughout.

Can Copilot summarise a sales call in Teams and turn it into a follow-up email?

Yes. According to Microsoft (September 2026), intelligent recap in Teams gives you an AI summary and follow-up tasks, as long as the meeting was transcribed in a supported language and ran 5 minutes or longer. You can share the recap as a drafted email in Outlook, and Microsoft's own instruction is to edit it for accuracy. So read it before it goes to the customer.

Does Copilot work with our CRM?

Microsoft offers more than 100 prebuilt Copilot connectors for systems outside Microsoft 365, and Salesforce is one of them (Microsoft Learn, September 2026). Your organisation sets up the connection. The workshop itself is built on what your team already has open every day.

Does every participant need a Copilot licence for the workshop?

To practise on their own real tasks, each participant should have an assigned Microsoft 365 Copilot licence on the day. Your admin can check who has one.

We already have Copilot licences. Why does our sales team need a workshop?

Because a licence is not usage. According to Recon Analytics (February 2026), only 35.8% of US workers who have Copilot available at work use it as their main AI tool. In the workshop sellers practise on their own meetings, emails and proposals, which is what turns the licence into a working tool. If your rollout is already wobbling, read why Copilot rollouts stall.

Who runs the workshop, and what is the experience behind it?

I do. I'm an AI consultant and trainer, focused on AI transformation and using AI at work, with no commercial interest in Microsoft. I have been working with and training on Gen AI since early 2022, and I have run 264 AI sessions in 112 organisations (updated October 2026). Organisations I have worked with include Intel, Roche, EY, Deloitte, Amdocs, Sapiens, monday.com, Rapyd and Optimove. These are AI lectures and workshops of different kinds, not all of them for sales teams.
