Copilot Workshop
for Marketing Teams

Microsoft 365 Copilot, hands-on, on your team's own campaigns and briefs

Bottom line: a Copilot workshop for marketing teams puts Microsoft 365 Copilot to work on your team's own files. The campaign manager reads last month's numbers in Excel. The content lead turns a brief into a plan per channel in Word. The marketing lead gets the monthly deck done in PowerPoint.

I've been working with and training on Gen AI since early 2022, and I've run 264 AI sessions in 112 organisations (updated October 2026).

01.

Who sits in the room

Content and copy. Campaign managers. Digital and performance. Product marketing, brand and marketing ops. Up to 20 people from one in-house team, each on their own laptop.

The people who write, plan and report sit together, so a prompt that works for one can be borrowed by the rest.

Leads, proposals and prospect research belong to the sales team workshop.

02.

What your team practises, on its own work

That's the core of Microsoft Copilot training for marketing teams: no demo data, no slide about the future of marketing. Five task groups.

01Campaign analysis in Excel

Take a campaign or performance export and ask Copilot what moved. Survey answers and comments get grouped into themes.

02Brief to channel plan

Copilot breaks a campaign brief into a plan per channel, in Word or Copilot Chat. You decide what stays and what goes in the bin.

03Research you check

Competitor and market questions in Copilot Chat. Copilot sounds sure either way, so you check answers against sources.

04You write, it edits

Tighter copy, a cleaner paragraph, a version for another audience. Your words stay yours.

05Recaps and reporting

A Teams meeting recap with owners and next steps, the follow-up email in Outlook, and Copilot for marketing reports in PowerPoint: the monthly one for management.

Each participant leaves with the prompts they wrote on their own real tasks, ready to use the next morning. That's the whole promise (small and true).

03.

Where Copilot helps marketing, and where your voice still leads

Microsoft 365 Copilot for marketers earns its keep on the work around the copy: reading data, breaking down a brief, research, editing, recaps and the monthly deck. It drafts fluent English in seconds, and fluent is not on-brand.

So the session trains Copilot for content and copywriting the honest way: you write, it edits.

The direct answer

Is Copilot an ad platform or an image studio?

No. It works on the files, email, chats and meetings you can already open. It isn't a marketing automation platform either. Customer data? Read Copilot, GDPR and EU data residency first.

04.

How the Copilot workshop for marketing teams runs

It runs 1.5 to 4 hours for up to 20 people, on site or online, in the same hands-on format. We agree the details on a short call.

For real hands-on work, each participant should have a Copilot licence on the day. Not everyone has one yet? We sort that out on the call. A licence alone does not create use, and here's why Copilot rollouts stall.

Mixed roles in one room? There's the general Copilot workshop. Team on Claude or Gemini as well? The habits carry over, and there's a tool-agnostic AI training for marketing teams. Managers have their own Copilot training, and leadership has a briefing.

Common questions

What does a marketing team actually practise in a Copilot workshop?

Your team works on its own real marketing tasks, each person on their own laptop. For example a first draft for a campaign, three versions of the same message for different audiences, a deck built from a brief in Word, or a summary of customer feedback and competitor research. Everyone leaves with the prompts they wrote themselves, ready to use the next morning.

How long is a Copilot workshop for marketing teams, how many people can join, and can it run online?

It runs 1.5 to 4 hours, depending on the format, for up to 20 participants. It works on site at your office or online, with the same hands-on format. The details are agreed on a short call.

How is a Copilot workshop for marketing different from one for sales?

This workshop is built around marketing work: campaigns, content, messaging, decks and research. The sales workshop focuses on leads, meeting prep and follow-up with a specific customer.

Can Copilot help us adapt one campaign for different markets and languages?

Yes, with a human check at the end. Microsoft's own route is Translator in Word for the full translation, then Copilot in Word to rewrite it for a specific audience so it sounds natural to local readers (Microsoft, September 2026). Microsoft also says Copilot's content can be inaccurate, so someone who knows the market reads it first.

Can Copilot build presentations that stay on brand?

Yes, if you start right. According to Microsoft, when you open your company template first, Copilot in PowerPoint follows it, and using your organisation's branding is only available with a paid Copilot licence. In the workshop you practise building a deck from one of your real documents, on your own template.

Does every participant need a Copilot licence?

To practise on their real tasks, each participant should have a Copilot licence assigned on the day of the workshop.

We already pay for Copilot licences. Why does the marketing team need a workshop?

A licence isn't the same as use. According to Recon Analytics (February 2026), only 35.8% of US workers who have Copilot available at work use it as their main AI tool. The workshop closes that gap on your marketing team's own work.

Who runs the workshop, and with what experience?

I do. I've been working with and training on Gen AI since early 2022, and I've run 264 AI sessions in 112 organisations (updated October 2026). Organisations I have worked with include Intel, Roche, Deloitte, monday.com, Optimove, Papaya Gaming, BuyMe and Rapyd. These were AI lectures and workshops of different kinds, not all of them for marketing teams.

Planning a Copilot workshop for your marketing team?

Bring your team's real campaigns.

Tell me who is on the team and where Copilot is stuck.
