Microsoft 365 Copilot Licence Cost in the UK and EU (2026)
Bottom line: at the time of writing (September 2026), the Copilot add-on for enterprise plans lists at £23.10 per user/month in the UK and €26.00 in Germany and Ireland, paid yearly, excluding VAT. The US price is $30. For companies with up to 300 users there's Copilot Business, at £16.10 or €18.20 list, with a first-year promo running until the end of 2026.
These are list prices as Microsoft displays them. They change, and promos come and go, so check Microsoft's own pricing page for your country before you put a number in a budget.
First, which Copilot are we pricing?
Microsoft 365 Copilot is now called Microsoft Copilot. Annoyingly, the free personal app is also called Microsoft Copilot. This page is about the paid work add-on, and I'll keep calling it Microsoft 365 Copilot, because that's still the name on the pricing pages.
It's an add-on. You need a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan underneath it: Business Basic, Standard or Premium, Microsoft 365 E3, E5, E7, F1 or F3, Office 365 E1, E3 or E5, and a list of standalone plans. Users also need an Entra ID account and a mailbox on Exchange Online.
And don't forget the free option. Copilot Chat comes at no extra cost with those plans. What it can and can't do is in Copilot Chat vs Microsoft 365 Copilot.
The enterprise add-on: UK, EU and US prices
List prices on microsoft.com at the time of writing (September 2026), per user per month, excluding VAT:

Read the monthly option carefully. It's paid monthly on an annual commitment, so you're still signing for 12 months. It just costs 5% more (my arithmetic on Microsoft's prices).
A few more facts buyers ask about. There's no seat minimum: Microsoft dropped the old 300-seat minimum in January 2024. Enterprise customers buy through their Microsoft account representative, not a web checkout. And when Microsoft raised base suite prices on 1 July 2026, the standalone Copilot add-on wasn't part of the change.
Copilot Business vs Enterprise (up to 300 users)
Copilot Business launched in December 2025 for companies on Business plans. The dividing line on Microsoft's pricing pages is company size and base plan: Business plans cover up to 300 users. Prices at the time of writing (September 2026), per user per month, excluding VAT:

Paying monthly on a Business plan is month-to-month, unlike the enterprise add-on.

The German page says the offer is only for existing customers on an eligible Business plan, and needs an annual subscription.

The promo terms matter: the discount is offered between 1 July and 31 December 2026, needs an annual commitment, and applies to the first year only. Paying month to month costs 20% more than the list price paid yearly (again, my arithmetic). There's a one-month free trial on the business plans.
Microsoft also sells bundles with Copilot built in, for up to 300 users. In the UK, Business Standard with Copilot is £18.10 paid yearly (£21.72 monthly) and Business Premium with Copilot is £24.60 (£29.52 monthly). In Germany they're €20.36 and €27.73 paid yearly. In the US, $23.50 and $32.00. Compare them against what you pay today for the base plan, on your own contract.
E7: the bundle with Copilot included
Microsoft 365 E7, which Microsoft calls the Frontier Suite, became generally available on 1 May 2026. It combines E5, Microsoft 365 Copilot, the Entra Suite and Agent 365, at $99 per user per month in Microsoft's launch announcement. It comes with and without Teams. I didn't find a verified UK or euro list price for E7, so ask your Microsoft partner for yours. There's no separate "E5 plus Copilot" product. E7 is that bundle.
The new part: Copilot Credits on top of the licence
On 25 September 2026 Microsoft announced how Copilot pricing will work from now on: 2 layers. The per-user licence covers everyday Copilot: Chat, Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, and model selection. Agentic work such as Cowork, other new long-running capabilities and some frontier models runs on usage-based billing in Copilot Credits, and that needs the licence first.
Microsoft says there are "no changes to the value you already have". The heaviest users of premium models get a warning first, then a choice: switch to Auto at no extra cost, or move to credits. Usage-based billing stays off until an admin creates a spending policy, and nothing is billed before that.
What credits cost at the time of writing, in US dollars: pay as you go is $0.01 per credit, and a Copilot Studio capacity pack is $200 a month for 25,000 credits (unused credits don't roll over). For Cowork, Microsoft's own Credits Guide gives rough planning estimates, not a fixed price: 100 to 300 credits for a light task, 300 to 700 for a medium one and over 700 for a heavy one. The licence is the small cost
Here's the thing I'd tell any finance team. The licence is the easy number. It's on a web page. The big cost is adoption: the hours it takes people to learn what to ask Copilot, and the licences that sit unused while they don't.
